1970's Giori Test Notes Uncut Pair, Washington Center PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. Named after the famed Italian security printer and inventor Gualtiero Giori, the "Giori Test Notes" were an experiment on the part of American Can Company engineer Edgar L. Pigman to produce two and three colored print engravings on a single plate in one pass. Subcontracted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing via the American Bank Note Company in the 1970's, these groundbreaking presses delivered sample notes from the manufacturing site in Geneva, NY to Washington, D. Only to eventually be rejected by the BEP for regular circulation.
